The role of the interim pastor is to walk arm-in-arm with the other elders, to:

1. Affirm/reaffirm the church’s values and desired outcomes.

2. Get the church on the proper heading.

3. Clarify/identify the title, job description, and expectations for the next “pastor.”

4. Determine the staffing strategy for FRAC in keeping with the church’s mission, and move toward filling or creating/filling positions.

5. Reestablish pulpit continuity.

6. (Re)establish a worship strategy and oversee its implementation.

7. Minister to the elders, by coming alongside, helping, encouraging, restoring, and strengthening them.

8. Process the church health assessment survey results and response.

9. Analyze the church and its needs.

10. Identify and develop young leaders.

11. Administer the ordinances and officiate weddings and funerals upon request.

12. Review church policies and make recommendations.

13. Draft a position statement regarding the role of men and women.
